Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Failures & efficiency – Carry out effective, efficient fault finding and problem resolution to root cause where possible on a wide range of complex systems in a continuous process environment so that they maintain the plant to deliver the target operating efficiencies.  Also to appraise, lead, motivate, coach and develop the maintenance team in accordance with the Knauf values so that they maintain the plant to deliver the target operating efficiencies.
2. Safety & Compliance – Apply, and ensure compliance, with the Company’s Health & Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures so that a safe and secure environment is maintained.
3. Budget Control – To ensure all financial control procedures are adhered to so that the Engineering Team has an accurate and up to date picture of current spend vs. budget.
4. Continuous Improvement – Support the CI Framework, applying CI techniques and investigating new technologies in predictive and preventative maintenance, continually improve the performance of the maintenance team in in line with the strategic plan in order to attain world class maintenance standards.
5. Physical Infrastructure – Support the Engineering Manager in keeping the Site, buildings and fabric, physical infrastructure and Manufacturing and Assembly assets and equipment, in a well maintained and safe condition.
6. Preventive Maintenance – Design and review the preventive maintenance program.
7. Resource Management & Utilisation – Ensure effective management and utilisation of the day(three persons) & shift technician(one person per shift, total 4 persons) who will report to you directly. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
8. Troubleshooting & rectification of any machiney/process related problems.
9. Improvement of any machinery/process related problems.
10. Establish, review & improve preventive maintenance programs for all machinery.
11. Establish, review & improve LOTO for all machinery.
12. Establish/Review spare parts quantity and availability.
13. Closing work orders on timely basis. Ensure useful information have been entered into the SAP system.
14. Provide training to other staffs.
15. Manage staffs (roster, stand-by, call-in, shift, annual/emergency/other leave, off/rest days, etc)
16. Assign jobs to staffs.
17. Provide guidance/knowledge to staffs to execute & complete jobs effectively with quality.
18. Liaise with KI staffs for any defects/improvement/preventive/corrective jobs.
19. Liaise with suppliers/contractors/consultants/authorities (including sourcing/evaluation/job execution).
20. Ensure all staffs/contractors are complied with KI’s safety policy/regulations/procedures.
21. Assume the role of Mechanical Maintenance engineer when he is away.
22. Stand-by to response to call-in for rectification of emergency breakdown/problems and work at extended hour.
23. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
