Software Test Engineer (Johor Bahru – Senai)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to design and execute comprehensive test strategies for printer products and supporting software. This role involves hands-on validation, defect analysis, and close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement. You will also contribute to building automation frameworks for Windows-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Design Verification & Testing (DVT) plans for software releases
• Design, implement, and execute automated and manual test cases (functional, regression, performance)
• Identify, track, and manage defects; perform root cause analysis and verify resolutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively identify risks and quality issues
• Support field issue investigations and contribute to product and process improvements
• Build and enhance test automation capabilities, particularly for Windows applications

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3–5+ years of experience in software testing, including manual testing exposure
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or similar
• Strong understanding of Windows OS and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
• Familiarity with hardware communication interfaces (USB, Serial, Parallel)
• Proficient in English, Malay, and Mandarin
• Ability to read and interpret Mandarin technical documentation
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
