Job Title: Automation Equipment Field Technician
Reporting To: Head of GABU-IB
Location: Penang, Malaysia (with global deployment as required)
Overview
The Automation Equipment Field Technician plays a key role in assembling, installing, and maintaining automation systems. This position involves close collaboration with engineers and technical teams to ensure machinery operates efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Installation: Assemble and install automation equipment based on technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Testing & Calibration: Perform functional testing, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out preventive maintenance and repair work to minimize downtime and maintain system efficiency.
- Documentation: Record assembly procedures, maintenance activities, and any modifications accurately.
- Collaboration: Work with engineers and team members to propose improvements and enhancements to equipment design and performance.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and ensure all activities meet industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints; understanding of mechanical and electrical components in automation systems.
- Assembly Experience: Hands-on experience in equipment assembly or installation, preferably within automation or manufacturing environments.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in all tasks.
- Teamwork: Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving processes.
- Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to workplace safety practices.
- Language: Proficiency in English and Mandarin.
Education & Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in a related field is an advantage.
- Prior experience in automation equipment assembly or manufacturing is preferred.
