Job Position: Senior Coating Process Engineer / Coating Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking an industry-expert in Conformal and Selective Coating to lead our coating process division. This senior position is critical for ensuring the highest levels of protection and reliability for high-end electronics. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader capable of managing complex programming, troubleshooting intricate defects, and driving yield improvements in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Process Leadership & Setup: Expertly configure, program, and operate advanced coating machinery (Conformal/Selective Coating) to meet stringent production requirements.

• Technical Optimization: Define and maintain critical process parameters, including viscosity control, curing profiles, and material handling protocols.

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analysis for complex coating defects such as bubbles, delamination, uneven application, or insufficient coverage, implementing sustainable corrective actions.

• Quality & Compliance Mastery: Ensure all coating outputs strictly adhere to IPC standards and specific customer quality requirements.

• NPI & Validation: Spearhead the setup for new projects, performing rigorous process validation and transition from prototype to mass production.

• Yield & Efficiency Engineering: Continuously analyze process data to improve coating yields, reduce material waste, and enhance overall line efficiency.

• Mentorship & Training: Serve as the primary technical authority on the floor, providing guidance and structured training to operators and junior technicians.

• Safety & Environment: Oversee compliance with chemical handling safety standards and environmental regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in coating processes, specifically within a PCB/PCBA manufacturing environment.

• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of conformal coating materials, application methods, and inspection criteria (e.g., IPC-A-610 or IPC-CC-830).

• Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot automated coating systems and chemistry-related issues independently.

• Decision Making: Demonstrated ability to make high-level technical decisions and manage process deviations without constant supervision.

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related technical discipline is highly preferred.

• Communication: Ability to document technical processes clearly and communicate effectively across production and engineering teams.
