Assistant Chargeman

Job Description & Responsibilities

The Assistant Chargeman is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and facility equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the proper and efficient operation and maintenance of electrical systems including high voltage (11kVA) and low voltage installations.

• Assist in maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, air-conditioning, fire-fighting, plumbing, sewerage, refrigeration, and other mechanical & electrical services of the facility.

• Perform preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdown and power failure.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical control panels, PLC circuits, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

• Attend to equipment and machine breakdowns and rectify issues promptly to ensure operational continuity.

• Ensure all electrical installations are safe, compliant, and meet statutory requirements.

• Liaise with utilities providers and regulatory authorities such as TNB, DOSH, LAP, JKKP and other relevant bodies on compliance matters.

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance work carried out by internal teams and subcontractors.

• Ensure all maintenance activities follow good engineering practices and safety standards.

• Support maintenance management in planning and executing facility maintenance programs.

• Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with all statutory regulations.

• Knowledge in PLC and robotic controls is an added advantage.

• Experience in repairing packing machines will be an added advantage.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Chargeman certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga:

  • BO-1 Certificate (HT Chargeman)

  • AO/A1/A4 Certificate (LV Chargeman)

• Able to work on 11kVA line.

• Knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing control panels and PLC circuits.

• At least 3 years of working experience in maintenance/repair (Facilities & Machinery) or related field.

• Preferably with technical qualification in Electrical / Maintenance or equivalent.

• Age requirement:

  • Below 40 years old (HT BO-1 Chargeman)

  • 30 – 40 years old (LV AO/A1/A4 Chargeman)

• Able to work on 3 rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• High integrity, trustworthy, reliable, and responsible.
