LEAD ANALYZER PROJECT ENGINEER
JOB OVERVIEW
The Lead Analyzer Project Engineer is responsible for the overall effective and efficient execution of engineering projects. This role serves as the principal technical liaison between the project, customers, and subcontractors while leading a team of engineers to meet defined project performance goals, including timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution (30%): Take overall responsibility for meeting and exceeding project performances regarding scope, quality, and budget.
Technical Liaison (30%): Act as the primary technical point of contact for the project, coordinating between customers and subcontractors.
Team Leadership (20%): Lead and assist Project Managers in managing assigned Project Engineers and technical team members.
Departmental Improvement (20%): Participate in improving the overall competency levels, efficiency, and engineering quality within the department.
Technical Design & Approval: Determine the technical suitability of analyzers, lead the development of detailed sampling system designs, and conduct DCR reviews and document approvals for assigned engineers.
Procurement Coordination: Lead the development of project bills of material, evaluate technical quotes, and coordinate material buyouts with procurement.
KEY INTERACTIONS
Internal: Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) on technical project management and reporting on schedule and budget status.
External: Interact with customers regarding design, engineering activities, and the delivery of quality products.
ENTRY-LEVEL REQUIREMENTS
Education: Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Instrumentation fields.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience is required, with 8 years being ideal. Candidates should have 5-7 years specifically in analyzer sampling design or instrumentation design.
Specific Knowledge: Advanced knowledge and experience in analytical system integration. Familiarity with hazardous area electrical equipment selection and analyzer system calculations (lag time, enthalpy, etc.) is essential.
