Job Descriptions (Key Responsibilities)

Compliance Oversight: Responsible for ensuring all welding and fabrication activities within the HEX Fabrication Department comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Inspection Procedures: Conduct in-process and final weld inspections, verify WPS compliance, and support NDT coordination.

Visual Inspection: Perform visual weld inspections during and after fabrication according to applicable codes, standards, and WPS requirements.

Verification: Verify welder qualifications, welding parameters, and filler materials against approved procedures.

Document Review: Review fabrication drawings, weld maps, and inspection checklists for completeness and accuracy.

Corrective Actions: Coordinate with production supervisors and technicians regarding repairs, rework, or corrective actions for identified defects.

Traceability & Records: Support the preparation and maintenance of inspection and test records (ITR), weld logs, and traceability documents.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and QC teams to maintain quality consistency.

Documentation Maintenance: Maintain accurate inspection documentation to ensure units meet internal and customer quality requirements.

Role Flexibility: Perform additional tasks and projects outside of the primary job description as needed to support team needs and company growth.
Job Requirements

Education: Certification or Diploma in Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or Fabrication Technology from a recognized institution.

Professional Certification: CSWIP .0/3.1$, PCN, or equivalent welding inspection certification is a strong advantage.

Technical Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of TIG welding (especially stainless steel) and familiarity with tube fitting, cutting, and HEX assembly processes.

Inspection Skills: Proficiency in visual inspection techniques, weld defect identification, and dimensional measurement.

Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, WPS, PQR, and fabrication schematics.

Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety practices within welding and fabrication environments.

Communication: Good communication and reporting skills with high attention to detail.

Digital Literacy: Computer literacy; ability to use MS Office and digital inspection forms.

Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in welding quality control within heat exchanger, pressure vessel, or precision fabrication environments.

Process Exposure: Proven exposure to visual inspection, NDT coordination, and weld documentation processes

Audit Experience: Experience supporting ISO or internal audit programs is an advantage.
