POSITION: CORPORATE PLANNING MANAGER 

Basic Job Purpose

  • Responsible for driving the organisation’s strategic planning processes, overseeing business performance analysis, and supporting decision-making for long-term growth.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, market analysis, and corporate development activities such as mergers and acquisitions.
  • Key advisor to senior management and collaborate closely across all business units to ensure alignment with corporate goals. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Corporate Development
  • Support senior management in driving business integration into a unified corporate structure.
  • Develop consolidation roadmaps aligned with group-level strategic objectives.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning cycle, including setting long-term strategic priorities.
  • Conduct market, competitor, and industry analysis to identify growth opportunities and emerging risks.
  • Evaluate and executive corporate development initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and divestments.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and business cases to support investment decision. 

Business Performance & Financial Analysis

  • Establish analytics frameworks to evaluate performance across business entities.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast market trends, operational risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Analyse business performance metrics, financial results, and operational data to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards to track performance across the organization.
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Work with Finance, Operations, Sales, and other teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Resources Planning

  • Oversee group-level budgeting for annual business plan, capital planning, and resource optimization.
  • Ensure alignment of financial plans with strategic objectives.
  • Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and financial modelling to support management decisions.

Strategic Projects & Transformation

  • Drive key cross-functional strategic initiatives and transformation projects.
  • Lead post-merger integration activities where applicable.
  • Support organizational restructuring, process enhancement, and cost optimization initiatives.

 Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate complex business insights in clear, concise, and visual formats.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on strategic and operational matters.

Capability Building & Change Environment

  • Build and develop a high-performing analytics and planning team.
  • Lead change management initiatives to support cultural and operational integration.
  • Champion digital transformation, and analytics adoption, and process modernization.
  • Always adhere to proper and safe working procedures.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Data Science or Finance related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate planning, business strategy/analysis, or similar fields.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling and strategic analysis.
  • Experience in mergers & acquisition, corporate development, or integration projects is preferred. 

Output

  • Deliver comprehensive strategic plans and performance analysis reports that support long-term organisational growth and informed decision-making.
  • Produce accurate budgets, forecasts, market analysis reports, and feasibility studies that drive strategic initiatives and corporate development activities.
  • Provide clear, timely, and actionable advisory updates to senior management and ensure alignment of strategic direction across all business units.
