Job Dimensions

  • Managing the water chemical (cooling tower, chiller, boiler) diesel, nitrogen stock inventory and purchasing.
  • Managing the overall operation of the WWTP and update chemical inventory.
  • Coordination with external lab on WWTP and sewage sampling
  • Coordination with external lab on stack monitoring
  • Startup, shutdown of utility equipment in safe order.

Job Descriptions

  • Monitor the status or condition of each mechanical units through time base maintenance schedule (check, inspect & restoration) inspection and ensure that the units are in the best possible condition relative to HSE requirements.  
  • Operate all the utility facility effectively, smoothly and follow standard operating procedure at all times so as to ensure smooth operation with minimum down time.
  • Removal of solvent and sludge from primary/secondary pond, scrubber tank, Tk407 & Tk408.
  • Draining of thermal oil in pipe lines, reactor, expansion tank, cooler and heater in the event of maintenance works (hot works) or for major oil refurbishments.
  • Attend equipment break down in timely and safely manner and handover to maintenance in proper condition.
  • Perform specific maintenance during annual plant turnaround (boiler & chimney, air receiver, thermal heater & chimney, incinerator & chimney, softener, sand filter, hot oil pump strainers, Tk407/Tk408 internal cleaning, scrubber tank, expansion tank & WWTP) as per engineering standards.
  • Participate with the external contractors on projects works and standby on site to ensure job is safely performed without any incidents during normal and shut down activities for equipment related at utilities area. Involve in improvement project activities.
  • Participate in department’s risk assessment and HAZOP exercise on Utilities and WWTP equipment with Production team. 
  • Participate in annual plant turn around or any shut down activities meeting to discuss on schedule with Snr Production Engineer.
  • Record all operating parameters for the utility units, waste water treatment plant and energy (gas, water & nitrogen) in soft copies (Excel format in computer) for evaluation purpose.
  • Conduct jar test on the raw feed water to enable effective chemical dosing before feeding into the biological system.
  • Calibration of feed water flow & chemical dosage by using stop watch and jar to enable effective flow and chemical dosing.
  • Coordinate with external service providers (Lab) on providing monthly WWTP/sewage samples for analysis.
  • Coordinate with external service providers on schedule for monthly stack monitoring analysis.
  • To perform in process analysis for WWTP.
  • Operate the monsoon drain valve effectively after morning shift hours in the event of emergency.
  • Compile and store all the internal log sheet & external stack monitoring reports safely in the boiler room for reference purposes as per JKPP requirement.
  • Participate as HSE Committee member to discuss issues pertaining to HSE in the department.
  • To play role as ERT on-screen commander- check with HSE- change to backup leader
  • Loss control responsibilities:

1. Identify the potential hazards, gains and the possible improvement

2. Report the HSEQ near-misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to superior

3. Report the HSEQ incident, accidents to superior

4. Compliant with the policies, legal regulations, company requirements, rules and procedures of one's sector applying to HSEQ

Qualifications

  • 2nd grade engine driver (boiler man) certificate from DOSH with at-least 3 years working experience in a chemical unit operation.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to operate boiler, compressor, chiller, thermal heaters, incinerator, cooling towers, nitrogen system and waste water treatment plant
  • Knowledge of boiler maintenance
