Conduct time and motion studies to improve worker efficiency and ergonomic design.
3. Layout Design & Workstation Optimization
Design factory layouts, material flow, and workstation ergonomics to maximize space utilization and reduce movement waste.
Collaborate with the Automation and Manufacturing teams to integrate automated solutions and robotics.
Ensure compliance with 5S, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), and safety standards in the workstation design.
4. Cost Reduction & Resource Optimization
Identify cost-saving opportunities by reducing material waste, labor inefficiencies, and cycle time variations.
Work with procurement and materials teams to evaluate alternative materials or suppliers for cost-effectiveness.
Develop labor and machine efficiency models to support budgeting and cost analysis.
5. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
Assist in NPI process development, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to mass production.
Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews with engineering teams.
Establish first article and pilot run evaluations to validate new processes before full scale production.
6. Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
Lead Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, and lean transformation initiatives.
Train operators and engineers on Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement techniques.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), FPY (First Pass Yield), and scrap rates for improvement opportunities.
