MACHINE SHOP MANAGER (BANGKOK)

Key Responsibilities:

 

Manage Machine Shop Operations:

 – Oversee the day-to-day operations of the machine shop, ensuring that all machines, including CNC machines, Wire EDM, and other precision equipment, are operating efficiently.
 – Schedule and coordinate production to meet customer demands, ensuring on-time delivery.
 – Monitor workflow, ensuring proper utilization of machines and resources.
 – Supervise machine operators, technicians, and shop staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Production Management :
 – Ensure production processes meet quality standards and customer specifications.
 – Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to review blueprints and production orders.
 – Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machining processes and production schedules.
 – Ensure all jobs are completed within budget and in a timely manner.

Maintenance and Equipment Management:
 – Ensure machines are regularly maintained and kept in optimal working condition.
 – Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime.
 – Oversee the installation, repair, and calibration of machines.
 – Track machine performance, identifying areas for improvement.

Quality Control:
 – Ensure compliance with quality standards and certifications (e.g., ISO9001:2015).
 – Perform quality inspections and audits of finished products.
 – Work closely with the quality control department to resolve any product discrepancies.

Health and Safety Compliance:
 – Enforce and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
 – Lead regular safety training and ensure all employees are up to date on safety standards.

Team Leadership and Development:
 – Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to machine operators and other team members.
 – Develop team performance goals and provide feedback on progress.
 – Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.

Inventory and Supply Management:
 – Manage inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and machine components to ensure smooth production flow.
 – Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of necessary materials and parts.

Qualifications:

Education: 
 – Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; or Diploma/ Higher Diploma in a related field with equivalent experience.

Experience: 
 – Minimum of 10 years of experience in a machine shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
 – Extensive experience with CNC machines, Wire Cut EDM,Sink EDM and other precision manufacturing equipment.
 – Strong understanding of machining processes, production schedules, and maintenance.
 – Previous experience with safety management and quality control procedures.

Skills:  
 – Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
 – Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
 – In-depth knowledge of machine shop operations and equipment.
 – Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
 – Familiarity with ERP and scheduling software.

Certifications (preferred but not required):
 – CNC programming certification.
 – ISO 9001 or other quality management certifications.
 – Safety and compliance certifications.

Physical Requirements:
– Must be physically fit and must pass company specified medical examination at a company specified clinic/hospital
– Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial environment.

Language Requirements:
– Must be able to read/write/speak in English proficiently as you will need to communicate with major international customers. Ability to read/write/speak in Mandarin will be and added advantage to communicate with colleagues in the HQ and other sister machine shops within the group
