ASST. PROCUREMENT MANAGER/ SENIOR BUYER
Develops and implements Sourcing Strategies, Contracts, Cost optimization projects of Purchased items (Packaging and Raw Materials, the Finished Goods and Indirect spend) on a timely basis and as per planned requirements to ensure that the production in all the manufacturing units.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Commodity Management
- In depth understanding of Market dynamics affecting commodities and feedstock, cost modelling, major players, complexities and demand supply gap.
- Responsible for using leading edge techniques in strategic sourcing, forecasting price trends, portfolio analysis, tenders, contracts etc and decide right time to buy.
- Responsible for development, leading and executing procurement strategies and negotiation of contracts to maximize the benefit to organization.
- Perform cost benefit analysis and benchmarking of the market and competition to find cost saving opportunities.
- In depth knowledge on different processes and techniques of manufacturing input materials.
- Accountable for identifying Risks and Opportunities and working out plans to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities using creative solutions.
- Though on Commodities the main responsibility is with “Non-global” commodities, but proposals/suggestion can be given “Global commodities” as well.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Ensure proper planning and delivery of orders and dispatch correctly according to timeline
Vendor Management
- Decide action plans basis vendor performance.
- Ensure good rapport with Supplier and Copackers to manage them in the interest of RB.
- Identifying and Propose new, more reliable and / or lower cost sources of supply.
- Assist product development teams to identify product innovation possibilities and ensuring timely support to new product developments.
Ensuring Service
- Responsible for coordinating with vendors and factory team to facilitate timely deliveries of Input Materials to factory / Copack.
- Responsible for resolution of all issues related to input materials’ quality, specifications, revalidations, damages/losses and commercial issues related to input materials vendors.
- Assist factories in efficient management of inventories and drive lead time reduction projects like JIT.
- Assist finance team in working capital management by negotiating payment terms with vendors.
- Develop contingency plan / BCP.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Supply Service directors on make or but decision
Systems & Process
- Comply with laid down systems and processes of RB and Procurement function and set-up new systems & fine tune existing one to meet requirements of the business.
- Function as a team player to implement end-to-end solutions across the supply chain, including interactions with the demand planning, manufacturing, logistics, R&D and vendors & other external agencies.
- Generation of appropriate MIS and analytics on a regular basis to support performance management systems.
- Responsible for identifying and driving projects on lead time reductions, process improvement and quality compliance.
- Follow all RB Global tools for Negotiation, Forecasting, Contracts, etc.
- Develop and train the team.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Qualification: Degree (Operations Management), Engineering Degree/ Other equivalent Graduation or Post Graduation Degree
- At least 5 years of experience in Procurement function in a FMCG / related organization
- Expertise in commodity management, Supplier management and systems & Processes.
- Able to work independently and highly motivated
- Able to lead a team & also a good team player
- Able to build good relations with all levels
- Ability to work under tight schedule and pressure
- Self-starter, strong leadership with good inter-personal skills, analytical skills and high sense of responsibility and commitment to job
