Job Position – CONTROL / AUTOMATION ENGINEER ( PASIR GUDANG )
Job Descriptions
- Equipment Failures – Carry out effective, efficient fault finding and problem resolution to root cause where possible on a wide range of complex systems in a continuous process environment so that they maintain the plant to deliver the target operating efficiencies.
- Safety & Compliance – Apply, and ensure compliance, with the Company’s Health & Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures so that a safe and secure environment is maintained.
- Budget Control – To support the Engineering group by following all financial control procedures so that the Engineering Team has an accurate and up to date picture of current spend vs. budget.
- Continuous Improvement – Actively engaging in plant continue improvement (CI) activities.
- Physical Infrastructure – Support the Engineering Manager in keeping the Site, buildings and fabric, physical infrastructure and Manufacturing and Assembly assets and equipment, in a well maintained and safe condition by reporting issues and carrying out remedial repairs where possible.
- Preventive Maintenance – Design and review the preventive maintenance program associated with automation system.
- Resource Utilisation – Ensure effective utilisation of the day control technician who will report to you directly and the shift electrical & control technician indirectly.
- Troubleshooting & rectification of any control / automation related problems.
- Improvement of any control / automation related problems.
- Establish, review & improve preventive maintenance programs for all machinery.
- Establish, review & improve LOTO for all machinery.
- Establish / Review spare parts quantity and availability.
- Work with maintenance engineers for closing work orders on timely basis. Ensure useful information have been entered into the SAP system.
- Provide training to other staffs.
- Work / liaise with Maintenance engineers for manpower.
- Provide guidance / knowledge to staffs to execute & complete jobs effectively with quality.
- Liaise with KI staffs for any defects / improvement / preventive / corrective jobs.
- Liaise with suppliers / contractors. (sourcing / evaluation / job execution)
- Ensure all staffs / contractors are complied with KI’s safety policy / regulations / procedures.
- Assume the role of maintenance engineer when others are away.
- Any assignment that will be assigned by the Engineering Manager.
- Stand-by to response to call-in for rectification of emergency breakdown / problems and work at extended hour.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- The candidate should possess a degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation / Control Engineering with minimum 5 years of working experience in related field is required.
- Candidate with a Diploma in Electronic / Electrical, Industrial/ Automation / Control Engineering from a reputable institution with 10 years of working experience will be considered.
- Working experience in Siemens S7 PLCs, WinCC, Starter manager & HMIs and Siemens Drive. Ability to modify & upload programs into PLCs.
- Ability in troubleshooting and rectification of automation system such as pneumatic & hydraulic cylinders, sensors, control valves, PLCs, conveyors and etc.
- Experience with SAP would be preferable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and writtern communication skills. Solid problem-solving abilities. Good
- leadership and self-motivated with the ability to work on an independent basis.
- Language: Able to communicate fluently in English. Any other language is a plus;
- Independent, organized, proactive;
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team, work within deadlines
- Having the ability to create and maintain a positive relationship
- To be assertive and have self-confidence in presenting and supporting conclusions, having communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to multi-task and prioritize work (different projects and technologies)
- Ability to be a creative thinker; search solutions and simplify the situation
