Production Manager (Japanese Speaker)

Location: Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia

Salary Range: RM 7,000 – RM 8,000

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, analytical, and leadership-driven Production Manager (Japanese Speaker) to oversee and drive manufacturing operations at our Pasir Gudang facility. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take full ownership of production scheduling, resource optimization, team leadership, and cross-border liaison with Japanese headquarters, clients, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership & Oversight: Lead, manage, and empower the entire Production Department to maintain high operational performance, safety, and output standards.

• Production Planning & Scheduling: Formulate, monitor, and refine production schedules to ensure 100% on-time delivery while coordinating cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Sales teams.

• Stakeholder & HQ Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for Japanese customers, international suppliers, and headquarters regarding production schedules, order tracking, and custom delivery requirements.

• Capacity & Efficiency Optimization: Continuously analyze production throughput, manpower allocation, and raw material availability to elevate overall plant efficiency.

• Inventory Control: Supervise stock levels and material availability in alignment with dynamic production forecasts.

• Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Track production progress, resolve operational bottlenecks, prepare high-level reports/forecasts, and drive CI initiatives to streamline accuracy and output.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Language Proficiency: Proficient in Japanese (JLPT N2 / N1 preferred) and English to converse smoothly with Japanese leadership and stakeholders.

• Experience: Proven experience in production planning, management, or operational oversight. Experience in the printing or manufacturing industry is a major advantage.

• Technical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools.

• Leadership & Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, team orchestration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead a complete production team under tight timelines.
