Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Manager​

Location: Johor, Malaysia

Salary Range: RM 8,000 – RM 12,000 per month (To be confirmed / Based on experience)

Job Description

Job Summary:

Oversees the overall planning, technical execution, and project management of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services across high-rise and township construction projects. Leads cross-functional coordination between consultants, contractors, and local authorities to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Management: Responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and management of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works for assigned projects, including project scheduling, construction activities, and progress reporting.

• Stakeholder & Authority Coordination: Lead and coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth, compliant implementation of M&E works.

• Work Programme & Schedule Control: Develop, monitor, and update master and detailed work programmes to ensure timely project completion according to milestone targets.

• Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure all M&E works adhere strictly to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.

• Technical Approvals & Submissions: Oversee site progress, technical submissions, shop drawings, material approvals, technical catalogues, and sample approvals.

• Site Leadership & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise site personnel, project engineers, and subcontractors to maintain high operational standards and achieve project goals.

• Site Inspections & T&C: Attend and lead project coordination meetings, technical site inspections, Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities, and progress reviews.

• Claims & Subcontractor Management: Evaluate and certify subcontractors' progress claims while ensuring the timely submission and certification of overall project claims.

• Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation: Identify and resolve technical, operational, and project-related site issues proactively to minimize delays and mitigate project risks.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering qualification.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in managing M&E works, specifically for high-rise residential or commercial projects.

• Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems, statutory authority requirements, and local construction regulations.

• Demonstrated leadership, clear communication, strong negotiation, and practical problem-solving capabilities.
