System Integration Engineer (Japanese Speaking)

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on System Integration Engineer (Japanese Speaking) to support IT systems, infrastructure, and day-to-day technical operations for an established manufacturing firm. The role involves maintaining reliable IT services, troubleshooting system issues, coordinating with internal users and vendors, and facilitating seamless communication and technical alignment with Japanese management and Japan Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• IT Infrastructure & System Support: Maintain servers, network systems, hardware, and peripherals. Perform troubleshooting, monitoring, routine maintenance, and user support to ensure reliable service availability.

• System Administration: Administer user access, permissions, and passwords. Maintain system records, network documentation, and equipment inventories while ensuring data backups, security controls, and disaster recovery readiness.

• IT Projects & Implementation: Assist in planning, testing, and deploying new IT systems, integrations, and upgrades in collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and Japan HQ. Conduct UAT and support process efficiency improvements.

• Vendor & External Support: Liaise with third-party IT vendors, software providers, and contractors. Evaluate technical solutions, track performance, and resolve vendor-related issues.

• IT Security & Compliance: Enforce internal IT security policies, respond to incidents, and maintain compliance with corporate information security guidelines.

• General Technical Support: Prepare IT operational reports for management, assist in audit requirements, and provide ongoing technical guidance to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Language Proficiency: Strong Japanese language skills (JLPT N2 or above preferred) with business-level English communication skills to liaise with local teams and Japanese counterparts.

• Work Experience: 2–5 years in system engineering, system administration, or IT infrastructure. Experience within a Japanese manufacturing firm is an advantage; proactive fresh graduates with strong language fluency will be considered.

• Technical Competencies: Sound proficiency in Windows OS, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, network fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, switches, routers), data backup, and basic cybersecurity. Exposure to ERP/MES manufacturing systems is a plus.

• Personal Attributes: Strong problem-solving ability, self-motivated, organized, and capable of handling urgent IT support requests independently or outside standard hours when necessary.
