Electrical Site Manager (Construction)

Position: Electrical Site Manager (Construction)

Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Monday – Saturday)

Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to oversee high-voltage and medium-voltage substation installations, including 230KV/66KV/38KV MV Transformers, MV Bus Ducts, and Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS). The successful candidate will manage site safety, leading workforce and subcontractor teams to meet strict schedule, quality, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site & Substation Supervision: Manage the installation of 230KV/66KV/38KV MV Transformers, MV Bus Ducts, and Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS). Oversee support activities including cable containments, cabling, glanding, termination, earthing, and control panel installation.

• Drawing Interpretation & Execution: Read and interpret GIS assembly drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and control schematic terminations to drive team productivity and ensure execution aligns with customer quality standards.

• Team & Subcontractor Management: Direct daily operations of direct workforce and subcontractors to meet project milestones. Attend daily/weekly coordination meetings with customers and manage required documentation.

• Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure all work complies with Work Instructions, PPE rules, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements. Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards, rectify sub-standard conditions, ensure proper tool maintenance, and enforce site housekeeping standards.

Requirements:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Experience: Minimum 5 to 6 years of site management/lead experience in high-voltage GIS electrical substations within the construction industry.

• Industry Context: Prior hands-on experience with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Data Centre projects, or Semiconductor substations is highly preferred.
