Procurement Manager

Location: Pasir Gudang

Salary: Up to RM12,000 per month

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and oversee purchasing operations and vendor management for manufacturing activities. Reporting to the Factory Director/Factory Manager, the successful candidate will manage a team of 3–4 subordinates, driving strategic supply chain planning, material cost optimization, and supporting food safety system implementations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FSSC22000, HALAL).

Key Responsibilities

• Department & People Management: Lead and mentor the purchasing team (3–4 executives and below) to maintain high performance.

• Sourcing & Purchasing Operations: Oversee the procurement of all direct and indirect materials required for manufacturing operations.

• Vendor Management: Drive vendor selection, supplier development, contract negotiations, execution, and ongoing supplier performance management.

• Cost & Quality Control: Lead strategic procurement initiatives to achieve competitive material pricing while upholding high-quality purchase standards and driving continuous process improvements.

• Supply Chain & Food Safety Compliance: Support supply chain planning and actively review/support the implementation of Food Safety Systems (HACCP, GMP, FSSC22000, BRC, IFS, HALAL, etc.).

Requirements

• Education: Diploma degree and above in any field.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in the purchasing/procurement field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

• Industry Experience: Knowledge or prior working experience within the food manufacturing/food industry will be a strong added advantage.

• Technical & Food Safety Knowledge: Computer literate with familiarity in food safety management standards (HACCP, GMP, HALAL, FSSC22000, etc.).

• Mobility & Working Conditions: Normal physical demands; willingness to travel as and when needed.
