Assistant Finance Manager (Automotive / Manufacturing)

Position: Assistant Finance Manager

Location: Senai, Johor Darul Ta'zim

Employment Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Standard Office Hours)

Salary Range: RM 7,000 – RM 9,500

Position Overview

We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to support and strengthen the financial operations of Sun Bus Tech Sdn Bhd. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager / Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls within a fast-paced bus manufacturing and body-building environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial acumen with operational awareness to drive financial compliance, efficiency, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee daily accounting functions, month-end closing, and preparation of accurate full-set financial statements in compliance with MFRS/PERS and local tax regulations.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual operational budgets, variance analyses, and cash flow forecasting to support strategic management decision-making.

• Cost & Management Accounting: Monitor manufacturing project costs, bill of materials (BOM), inventory valuation, and production variances to identify cost-saving opportunities and protect profit margins.

• Audit, Tax & Treasury: Coordinate with internal/external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and statutory authorities (LHDN, Royal Malaysian Customs) to ensure full compliance.

• Team Supervision: Guide and mentor junior finance and accounting executives, ensuring accuracy, timely reporting, and workflow optimization across the department.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification.

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant supervisory experience in financial management, preferably within manufacturing, automotive, or heavy engineering industries.

• Core Competencies:

  • Solid knowledge of full-set accounting, corporate taxation, and cost accounting practices in a manufacturing setup.

  • Proficiency in ERP accounting software (e.g., SAP, AutoCount, SQL) and advanced MS Excel skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial forecasting capabilities.

  • High level of integrity, meticulousness, and ability to work under tight financial deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin fluency is an added advantage).
