Position Overview

• Position: Cost Accountant

• Location: Pasir Gudang, Johor

• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

• Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Includes 40-minute lunch break)

• Salary Range: RM 8,000 – RM 9,000 per month

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Accounting & Analysis

• Prepare and maintain accurate product costing.

• Monitor manufacturing expenses, including raw materials, consumables, labor, and overheads.

• Conduct cost variance analysis, perform cost allocations, and investigate significant deviations from budgets or standard costs.

• Identify key opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.

2. Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory valuations and reconcile Raw Materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), Finished Goods, and scrap inventory.

• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual physical stock counts.

• Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective action plans.

3. Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly cost reports, manufacturing performance summaries, and management packages.

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory and cost accounting.

• Assist in preparing annual budgets, production cost forecasts, and evaluating the financial impact of operational changes/capital investments.

4. Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.

• Support internal and external audits with necessary documentation and costing schedules.

• Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Engineering, and Sales teams on pricing analysis and ERP system enhancements.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Cost Accounting, or equivalent.

• Professional Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent is a strong advantage.

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of cost accounting / manufacturing accounting experience within the manufacturing industry. (Experience in steel, metal, heavy manufacturing, or industrial sectors is highly preferred).

• Language Skills: Proficient in Mandarin (Must), English, and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken) to liaise with regional stakeholders and internal teams.
