Accountant

• Position: Accountant

• Location: 81800 Ulu Tiram, Johor Darul Ta'zim

• Employment Type: Full-Time (On-site)

• Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Standard Office Hours)

• Salary Range: RM 8,000 – RM 9,500

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and driven Accountant to lead our day-to-day financial operations, inventory accounting, and management reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong cash flow management skills, product costing experience (preferably within a manufacturing background), and prior experience in the audit industry. You will play a key role in ensuring robust internal controls, financial accuracy, and guiding junior finance team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Cash Flow & Financial Management: Manage and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient operational funds. Prepare monthly financial and management reports (P&L, budget variance, ageing analysis, cash flow forecasts, and annual budgets). Ensure timely submission of monthly management accounts.

• Daily Operations & Full-Set Accounting: Handle Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), fixed assets, petty cash, vendor payments, employee claims, and month-end closing/journal entries. Perform monthly bank and intercompany reconciliations.

• Inventory & ERP Costing: Review, maintain, and update ERP product costing. Monitor monthly inventory reconciliation, closing reports, and stock variance analysis. Coordinate monthly/annual stock counts and related activities.

• Compliance, Audit & Tax: Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities. Assist with statutory audits and tax computations. Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

• Leadership & Team Support: Supervise, guide, and mentor junior finance team members. Perform ad-hoc finance-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Education & Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline. Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, MIA, ICAEW, CIMA) are an added advantage.

• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting/finance experience. Candidates with a background in the Audit Industry / audit experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Technical Skills: Must have solid experience in inventory accounting and product costing. Hands-on experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict reporting deadlines.
