JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Quality Technician
Dept. : Quality & HSE
Report To : QHSE Manager

General Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and update the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and related records.
  2. Control the document lifecycle, including the creation, review, approval, revision, distribution, and archival of all Integrated Management System (IMS) documents.
  3. Prepare and maintain quality documentation and reports, including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), Document Change Notices (DCN), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), General Inspection Directions (GID), inspection records, and other quality-related documents.
  4. Investigate customer complaints and product returns by identifying root causes, determining appropriate corrective and preventive actions, and supporting the implementation of the 8D problem-solving methodology.
  5. Assist in analysing internal production rejects, identify root causes, and support corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring defects and improve product quality.
  6. Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  7. Support quality and HSE-related training for production operators and employees, and assist in improving workmanship and quality awareness.
  8. Notify the immediate supervisor of production or quality issues that cannot be resolved promptly.
  9. Assist in ensuring Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and 5S workplace practices are effectively implemented and maintained.
  10. Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate superior or Management.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments on quality-related matters.
  2. Support customer audits, internal audits, and external certification audits where required.
  3. Ensure quality records and documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained according to established procedures.
  4. Carry out any additional assignments delegated by Management.

Authorities:

  1. Recommend the temporary stoppage of production activities when significant quality issues or defects are identified.
  2. Verify and recommend the disposition of non-conforming products in accordance with established quality procedures and approval authority.
