JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title : Quality Technician
Dept. : Quality & HSE
Report To : QHSE Manager
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and related records.
- Control the document lifecycle, including the creation, review, approval, revision, distribution, and archival of all Integrated Management System (IMS) documents.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation and reports, including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), Document Change Notices (DCN), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), General Inspection Directions (GID), inspection records, and other quality-related documents.
- Investigate customer complaints and product returns by identifying root causes, determining appropriate corrective and preventive actions, and supporting the implementation of the 8D problem-solving methodology.
- Assist in analysing internal production rejects, identify root causes, and support corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring defects and improve product quality.
- Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Support quality and HSE-related training for production operators and employees, and assist in improving workmanship and quality awareness.
- Notify the immediate supervisor of production or quality issues that cannot be resolved promptly.
- Assist in ensuring Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and 5S workplace practices are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate superior or Management.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments on quality-related matters.
- Support customer audits, internal audits, and external certification audits where required.
- Ensure quality records and documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained according to established procedures.
- Carry out any additional assignments delegated by Management.
Authorities:
- Recommend the temporary stoppage of production activities when significant quality issues or defects are identified.
- Verify and recommend the disposition of non-conforming products in accordance with established quality procedures and approval authority.
