Assistant Sales & Marketing Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Sales & Marketing Manager to drive business growth, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market presence across Asia and the Middle East. This role is responsible for managing existing customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets while working closely with internal teams to deliver excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial B2B sales, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and is comfortable travelling extensively to support customers and develop new markets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in line with the approved business plan.

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts to maximize customer satisfaction and long-term business retention.

  • Identify, develop, and secure new customers and business opportunities in assigned markets.

  • Prepare sales forecasts, market analysis, and business development plans.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.

  • Work closely with production, planning, logistics, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts.

  • Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, and relationship-building activities.

  • Manage customer enquiries, quotations, pricing negotiations, and complaint resolution professionally.

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers and strategic business partners.

Marketing & Market Intelligence

  • Gather market feedback and identify emerging industry trends.

  • Participate in trade exhibitions, conferences, and industry events to promote products and strengthen business networks.

  • Support the development and execution of marketing strategies and promotional initiatives.

  • Provide regular market intelligence and business reports to management.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses.

  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales documentation, and account information.

  • Ensure compliance with internal commercial procedures and company policies.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of sales and marketing experience within industrial manufacturing, engineering products, metals, copper products, industrial materials, hardware, or related industries.

  • Experience in international B2B sales is an added advantage.

  • Exposure to metal processing, copper products, industrial materials, or engineering-related industries is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong sales, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and consistently achieve sales targets.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in additional Asian languages is an advantage.

Travel Requirements

This position requires frequent international business travel across:

  • East Asia

  • Southeast Asia

  • Indian Subcontinent

  • Middle East

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: RM7,000 – RM10,000 per month
