Service Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Engineer to join our industrial service team. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of industrial refrigeration and gas compression systems across various industrial environments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. Candidates with experience servicing compressors, rotating equipment, industrial refrigeration, HVAC, or gas compression systems are highly encouraged to apply.

This position involves both workshop-based and on-site field service work, including equipment maintenance, overhauls, troubleshooting, repairs, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance for industrial refrigeration and gas compression systems.
• Carry out workshop servicing, compressor overhauls, repairs, and equipment refurbishment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues on-site.
• Conduct equipment commissioning, startup, shutdown, and operational testing.
• Respond to emergency service callouts and provide timely technical support.
• Prepare accurate service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation after each assignment.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding service activities, findings, and recommendations.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Travel to customer sites as required, including industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and utility installations.
• Participate in after-hours, weekend, and public holiday service assignments when operationally required.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Candidates without formal qualifications but with relevant hands-on experience and technical competency are encouraged to apply.

Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Service Engineer or Technician.
• Experience servicing industrial rotating equipment is preferred.
• Exposure to industrial refrigeration, HVAC systems, gas compressors, process plants, marine, offshore, EPC, or industrial utilities is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems and gas compression equipment.
• Experience with compressor maintenance and overhaul.
• Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, technical manuals, and service documentation.
• Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Good technical report writing skills.

Additional Requirements

• Valid Class 3 Driving Licence (or equivalent).
• Physically fit to perform field work in industrial environments.
• Willing to travel to customer sites and work in industrial facilities.
• Comfortable working overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Standard office hours
• Overtime, weekend, and public holiday assignments may be required based on operational needs.
