Position Summary
The Assistant IT Manager / IT Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing daily IT operations, infrastructure management, cybersecurity initiatives, and technology support functions. This role serves as the key liaison between local business operations and global IT leadership, ensuring alignment with corporate IT strategies, standards, policies, and long-term technology roadmaps.
The incumbent will drive operational excellence, maintain secure and reliable IT environments, support business growth through technology initiatives, and contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Operations & Matrix Reporting

Manage and oversee day-to-day IT operations, technical support services, and system administration activities.

Act as the primary IT contact for local business stakeholders and management.

Coordinate with HQ/Global IT teams to ensure successful implementation of corporate IT initiatives and projects.

Monitor IT service performance and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.

Provide regular updates and reports on IT operations, risks, and improvement initiatives.
2. IT Governance, Compliance & Asset Management
-
Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Ensure compliance with internal governance requirements, regulatory standards, and security policies.

Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licenses, hardware inventories, and related documentation.

Conduct periodic audits and reviews of IT systems, assets, and processes.
-
Ensure local IT practices remain aligned with corporate standards and governance frameworks.
3. Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Management

Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure including:

Servers

Storage systems
-
Network infrastructure
-
Cloud services
-
Security appliances and devices
-

Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity planning requirements.

Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect organizational data and systems.

Manage vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, backup solutions, and disaster recovery processes.

Collaborate with HQ/Global IT teams on infrastructure architecture, cybersecurity standards, and technology enhancements.

Ensure timely response to security incidents and system disruptions.
4. Project Management & Technology Initiatives
-
Lead and support IT projects, system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives.

Coordinate project planning, resource allocation, implementation, testing, and deployment activities.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve business efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Support business process improvements through technology adoption and automation opportunities.
5. Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement

Contribute to short-term and long-term IT planning activities.

Provide recommendations on technology investments, infrastructure improvements, and resource development.

Identify opportunities to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and system reliability.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives related to IT operations.
6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Lead, mentor, and develop IT team members where applicable.

Foster collaboration between local users, management teams, vendors, and HQ/Global IT stakeholders.

Manage relationships with external IT service providers, consultants, and technology vendors.
-
Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and service excellence.
7. Other Responsibilities
-
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by local management and HQ/Global IT leadership.

Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency response activities when required.
Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2, CISSP, CISM, CCNA, Microsoft, AWS, or equivalent are an added advantage.
Experience
-
Assistant IT Manager: Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
-
IT Manager: Minimum 8 years of relevant IT experience with proven leadership and management responsibilities.
-
Experience managing enterprise infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, and IT operations.

Experience working within regional or global matrix reporting environments is preferred.
