Position Summary

The Travel Consultant is responsible for providing professional travel planning and advisory services to customers. This role involves designing travel itineraries, recommending suitable travel products, processing bookings, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the customer journey. The ideal candidate is passionate about travel, possesses strong sales and communication skills, and is committed to creating memorable travel experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Travel Planning & Consultation

  • Consult with customers to understand their travel preferences, budgets, and requirements.
  • Recommend suitable travel packages, destinations, flights, accommodations, cruises, and ancillary travel services.
  • Design customized travel itineraries tailored to customer needs.
  • Provide destination information, travel advice, visa requirements, and travel regulations.

Sales & Business Development

  • Promote and sell travel packages, tours, cruises, and related travel products.
  • Achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities for travel insurance, excursions, transportation, and premium services.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries and convert leads into confirmed bookings.

Booking & Reservation Management

  • Process reservations for flights, hotels, tours, cruises, transfers, and travel-related services.
  • Ensure accuracy of booking details, travel documents, and customer information.
  • Coordinate with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and other travel suppliers.
  • Manage amendments, cancellations, refunds, and rebooking requests efficiently.

Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Provide prompt and professional support before, during, and after travel.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints effectively.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction and service excellence.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare quotations, invoices, travel vouchers, and itinerary documents.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, travel regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and booking information within the reservation system.
  • Stay updated on travel advisories, visa requirements, and destination developments.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant travel industry certifications are an advantage.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in travel consulting, travel sales, customer service, or related roles.
  • Fresh graduates with a strong passion for travel may be considered for junior positions.
