POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: PLC Engineer
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The PLC Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, testing, commissioning, and maintaining Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems and industrial automation solutions. The role involves supporting manufacturing and industrial operations through the implementation of reliable control systems, troubleshooting automation equipment, and ensuring optimal system performance while meeting operational and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming & Automation Development

Develop, modify, and maintain PLC programs for industrial automation systems.

Design and implement ladder logic, function block, and structured text programming as required.

Configure and integrate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, and industrial communication networks.

Perform software debugging, optimization, and performance improvements for existing control systems.
System Integration & Commissioning

Execute system testing, commissioning, and start-up activities for new automation projects.

Integrate industrial control hardware, including production equipment, AOI systems, AGVs, and related automation devices.

Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

Verify system functionality against project specifications and operational requirements.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve PLC, HMI, and industrial control system faults.

Provide technical support for production and maintenance teams during equipment breakdowns.
-
Perform preventive maintenance activities on automation and control systems.
-
Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Electrical & Control System Support
-
Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
-
Assist in electrical panel inspections, modifications, and system upgrades.

Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and company engineering practices.

Support the installation and validation of control system hardware.
Project Management & Continuous Improvement
-
Participate in automation and process improvement projects.
-
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, contractors, and customers during project execution.

Prepare project documentation, technical reports, and system operating manuals.

Recommend automation enhancements to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Training & Technical Support
-
Provide technical guidance and training to operators, technicians, and junior engineers.

Support users in understanding control system operations and troubleshooting procedures.

Maintain accurate records of system configurations, software backups, and engineering changes.
Requirements
-
Candidate must possess at least a Degree / Master in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
-
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Experience with industrial control system and ability to program in ladder logic.

Good knowledge of industrial control hardware that including AOI and AGV.

Experience with PLC brands such as Siemens, OMRON, Mitsubishi, Keyence and etc.

Proficiency in PLC programming tools.

Ability to interpret electrical and control schematics.

Strong leadership and problem-solving capability.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
