RM10,000 – RM12,000 per month (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and contractual requirements. The role involves coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to achieve successful project execution while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution

Lead and manage the overall execution of construction projects from commencement to handover.

Develop project schedules, resource plans, and work programs to ensure timely project delivery.

Monitor project progress against established milestones and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Coordinate site activities and ensure efficient allocation of manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Cost Control & Budget Management

Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and cash flow to ensure cost-effective project execution.

Identify potential cost overruns and implement measures to control project costs.

Review subcontractor claims, variation orders, and progress payments.

Assist management in project forecasting and financial reporting.
Contract Administration
-
Ensure project activities comply with contractual obligations and project specifications.

Manage contract correspondence, variation orders, extension of time (EOT) claims, and contractual documentation.

Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities regarding project matters and approvals.
Stakeholder Management
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.

Conduct project meetings and provide regular updates on project status, risks, and performance.

Maintain positive working relationships with clients, authorities, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Quality Management
-
Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Monitor site inspections, testing activities, and quality assurance processes.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality and operational efficiency.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
-
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements, local regulations, and company policies.

Conduct regular site inspections and address safety concerns promptly.

Ensure all incidents, near misses, and safety issues are properly reported and investigated.
Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and supervise project engineers, site supervisors, and supporting staff.

Establish performance expectations and monitor team productivity.
-
Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional development within the project team.
Reporting & Documentation
-
Prepare and submit project progress reports, management reports, and project performance analyses.

Maintain accurate project records, including correspondence, site documentation, and project files.
-
Provide regular updates to senior management regarding project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, or a related discipline.

Professional certifications related to project management or construction management will be an added advantage.
Experience
-
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the construction industry.
-
At least 5 years of experience managing construction projects in a managerial capacity.

Proven experience in industrial, infrastructure, commercial, or building construction projects.

Experience managing multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and site teams.
Knowledge & Skills
-
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles, and contract administration.

Familiarity with local authority requirements, construction regulations, and industry standards.

Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.

Strong budgeting, cost control, and project reporting skills.
-
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Working Conditions
