Salary: RM2,500 – RM3,500 per month

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and service-oriented IT Technician (Contract Staff) to provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network connectivity, and end-user computing devices. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting IT-related issues, maintaining IT equipment, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the company's IT infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

End-User Support

  • Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.

  • Respond to IT service requests and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.

  • Assist users with system access, password resets, software installations, and configuration.

Hardware & Equipment Maintenance

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.

  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT equipment.

  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacement or repairs when necessary.

Network Support

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining network devices including switches, routers, wireless access points, and internet connectivity.

  • Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues.

  • Escalate complex network problems to senior IT personnel or vendors when required.

Mobile Device & Software Support

  • Support company-issued smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications.

  • Install, update, and maintain operating systems and software applications.

  • Assist in software deployment and patch management activities.

Asset Management

  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licenses, and equipment inventory.

  • Track equipment allocation, movement, and disposal.

  • Assist in periodic asset verification exercises.

IT Security & Compliance

  • Ensure IT equipment complies with company security policies.

  • Support antivirus updates, system patches, and endpoint security initiatives.

  • Report potential security incidents or vulnerabilities to the IT department.

Documentation & Administration

  • Maintain service logs, troubleshooting records, and technical documentation.

  • Assist in preparing IT reports and inventory records.

  • Support IT-related projects and system implementation activities when assigned.

General Support

  • Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance and repair services.

  • Provide support during company events, meetings, or system upgrades.

  • Perform any other IT-related duties assigned by management from time to time.


Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support roles will have an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Familiarity with PC hardware, printers, networking devices, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Basic understanding of LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and network troubleshooting.

  • Exposure to ERP systems, cloud services, or cybersecurity practices is an advantage.

Other Requirements

  • Willing to provide on-site support across different departments.

  • Able to work beyond normal office hours when required for maintenance or emergency support.

  • Possess own transport and willing to travel between company locations if required.
