Senior Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Mechanic to join our After-Sales & YQS Department. This role is responsible for performing advanced motorcycle diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repair work while providing technical leadership and guidance to workshop personnel. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality workmanship, maintain workshop efficiency, uphold safety standards, and contribute to exceptional customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

Motorcycle Diagnostics, Servicing & Repairs

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on motorcycles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues.

  • Accurately diagnose faults and recommend effective repair solutions.

  • Ensure all service and repair work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Conduct final inspections and quality checks before vehicle delivery to customers.

Workshop Operations & Technical Support

  • Support daily workshop operations to ensure service jobs are completed within targeted turnaround times.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to mechanics and technicians on complex repair and diagnostic issues.

  • Assist in resolving recurring technical problems and implementing corrective actions.

  • Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide on-the-job training to junior mechanics, technicians, and workshop staff.

  • Allocate work assignments effectively based on workload, priorities, and technical requirements.

  • Monitor work quality and productivity to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Foster teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning within the workshop.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with workshop safety procedures, manufacturer standards, and company policies.

  • Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Promote workplace safety awareness and ensure adherence to occupational health and safety requirements.

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout all service activities.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, parts usage records, and job completion reports.

  • Monitor warranty repairs, recurring technical issues, and service trends for continuous improvement purposes.

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly workshop performance reports.

  • Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures and manufacturer requirements.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieve workshop productivity and service turnaround targets.

  • Maintain high first-time repair accuracy and customer satisfaction levels.

  • Ensure compliance with workshop quality and safety standards.

  • Minimize rework, warranty claims, and repeat repair cases.

  • Support training and development of junior workshop personnel.

  • Maintain accurate and timely completion of service documentation and reports.

 

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Technical Certificate, Diploma, or Professional Certification in Motorcycle Technology, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in motorcycle or automotive servicing and repair.

  • Experience in an authorized motorcycle dealership or service center is highly preferred.

  • Manufacturer-specific technical certifications are an added advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of motorcycle engines, transmission systems, electrical systems, fuel injection systems, braking systems, and diagnostic procedures.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.

  • Experience using diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, and computerized service systems.
