Account Executive

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Account Executive to join our Accounts Department. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial and statutory requirements. The successful candidate will support the company's motorcycle sales, spare parts, and service operations through timely financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and sound accounting practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Record Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for sales, purchases, expenses, inventory transactions, and other financial activities.

  • Record and process accounting entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, customer billing, and collection activities.

  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables.

  • Verify supplier invoices and ensure timely payment processing.

Bank Reconciliation & Cash Flow Management

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies when necessary.

  • Monitor daily cash flow and financial transactions to ensure adequate liquidity for operational requirements.

  • Assist in managing dealership-related financial transactions and fund allocations.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.

  • Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.

  • Prepare tax-related schedules and assist with SST, withholding tax, and other regulatory submissions where applicable.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reports, and relevant documentation.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures.

Business Support

  • Collaborate with Sales, Service, Parts, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and transaction processing.

  • Assist management with financial analysis, business planning, and operational improvement initiatives.

  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Accounts Manager.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reports.

  • Maintenance of accurate accounting records with minimal errors or audit findings.

  • Timely processing of payments, invoices, and collections.

  • Successful completion of bank reconciliations within established timelines.

  • Compliance with all statutory reporting, tax filings, and audit requirements.

  • Effective management of accounts receivable and cash flow targets.

 

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Experience in automotive, dealership, retail, trading, or service industries is an added advantage.

  • Candidates with professional accounting qualifications or those pursuing certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent are preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in accounting software and computerized accounting systems.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and financial reporting functions.

  • Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and Malaysian statutory requirements.

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis is an advantage.
