Product Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the development and introduction of new products from concept, design validation, and prototyping through to mass production.
• Collaborate with customers, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to define product specifications, requirements, and project deliverables.
• Prepare, maintain, and control engineering documentation, including product drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), specifications, work instructions, and technical reports.
• Coordinate product trials, prototype builds, pilot runs, and validation testing to ensure product readiness for production.
• Analyze and troubleshoot product-related and manufacturing issues during development and production stages.
• Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO), ensuring timely implementation and documentation updates.
• Ensure products meet quality, cost, delivery, reliability, and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Tooling, Process Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure successful product launches and smooth manufacturing transitions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for product and process-related issues.
• Monitor product performance, manufacturing yields, and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement, product standardization, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Support customer audits, technical reviews, and product qualification activities when required.
• Prepare project status reports and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or new product introduction (NPI) environments will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent is preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, stamping, assembly, or automation is an advantage.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, BOM management, and document control processes.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and other quality or product development methodologies is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and project coordination skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
