Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and managing the delivery, inventory, and logistics activities related to precast concrete production. The Logistics Coordinator ensures timely delivery of precast components to project sites, efficient utilization of transportation resources, proper inventory control, and effective coordination between production, quality, procurement, and project teams to meet project requirements.


Key Responsibilities

1. Logistics Planning, Scheduling & Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate the delivery schedule of precast concrete components to project sites.

  • Monitor delivery progress and adjust schedules based on production output, project priorities, and site requirements.

  • Coordinate daily and weekly delivery plans with production, project, installation, and site teams.

  • Prioritize deliveries according to project timelines, erection sequences, and installation schedules.

  • Liaise with production personnel to confirm product readiness and loading schedules.

  • Ensure deliveries are released only after quality inspection and approval.

  • Arrange transportation resources, including trailers, trucks, cranes, and lifting equipment as required.

  • Coordinate with external transport providers regarding vehicle allocation and delivery arrangements.

  • Monitor transportation capacity, vehicle utilization, and delivery performance.

  • Track shipment status and delivery completion to ensure timely project execution.

2. Inventory & Material Coordination

  • Coordinate daily inventory activities and monitor material consumption records.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using ERP or inventory management systems.

  • Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.

  • Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when necessary.

  • Verify incoming material deliveries against purchase orders, specifications, quantities, and supporting documentation.

  • Coordinate unloading, storage, and allocation of materials within designated yard areas.

  • Ensure proper material handling and storage practices are maintained.

3. Quality Control & Compliance Support

  • Ensure materials and products comply with approved project specifications and quality requirements.

  • Maintain material certificates, inspection records, test reports, and traceability documentation.

  • Support internal audits, inventory audits, and third-party inspections when required.

  • Coordinate with QC personnel to ensure products are approved before delivery.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Liaise with procurement personnel regarding open purchase orders, material deliveries, and supplier performance.

  • Coordinate closely with production teams to align inventory availability with manufacturing schedules.

  • Work with project teams to ensure deliveries meet site requirements and installation timelines.

  • Facilitate communication between logistics, production, quality, and project stakeholders.

5. Troubleshooting & Operational Support

  • Identify logistics bottlenecks, transportation issues, and inventory-related challenges.

  • Take corrective action to minimize delays and disruptions to production and project schedules.

  • Escalate significant issues to management and support resolution efforts.

  • Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements.

6. Health, Safety & Housekeeping

  • Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote safe work practices.

  • Support toolbox talks, safety briefings, and corrective action implementation.

  • Ensure personnel utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe traffic flow within storage and yard areas.

7. Reporting, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics and inventory reports.

  • Monitor stock variances, aging inventory, transportation performance, and delivery metrics.

  • Maintain accurate logistics documentation and operational records.

  • Recommend process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency, inventory control, and yard operations.

  • Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

8. Training & Development

  • Support training and development initiatives for logistics and yard personnel.

  • Promote best practices in inventory management, material handling, and logistics operations.

  • Assist in developing operational competency among team members.

9. Other Duties

  • Perform additional duties assigned by management from time to time.

  • Responsibilities may be revised based on operational and project requirements.


Requirements

Education

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Construction, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in precast concrete manufacturing, logistics coordination, inventory control, warehouse operations, or yard management.

  • Experience in construction materials, precast production, or heavy industrial operations is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of precast concrete manufacturing processes and construction project logistics.

  • Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and material traceability systems.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Understanding of transportation planning and delivery coordination.

Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making capability.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
