Job Summary
The Sheet Metal Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the sheet metal production department, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes. The role involves coordinating production planning, quality control, workforce management, and cost optimization to improve productivity, reduce manufacturing costs, and ensure products meet downstream process requirements and industry standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute production plans to ensure timely delivery with required quantity and quality.
- Manage the full sheet metal manufacturing process, including laser cutting, bending, stamping, grinding, welding, and painting.
- Maintain and improve the quality management system to ensure compliance with quality standards, industry requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the production team by enhancing employees’ technical capabilities, multi-skill competency, and safety awareness.
- Monitor and control production costs, including materials, labor, and equipment maintenance, while driving continuous cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with related departments to ensure smooth production operations and timely issue resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity, workflow efficiency, and operational performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above; diploma holders with extensive relevant experience may also be considered.
- Fluent in Mandarin, English, and Malay. Mandarin proficiency is mandatory for effective communication in a multilingual working environment.
- Minimum 5 years of production management experience in the sheet metal manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, bending, stamping, grinding, welding, and painting.
- Familiar with ERP/MES systems and their application in manufacturing operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and team management skills.
- Able to work under pressure and demonstrate proactive learning and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical thinking, data analysis, and project management capabilities.
- Candidates should preferably be below 50 years old.
Working Conditions
- Workplace: Johor, Malaysia
- Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Salary Range: RM10,000 – RM15,000 per month
