Accounts Assistant (Work From Home)

Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing & Data Entry

  • Perform high-volume data entry of sales and purchase invoices into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ensure proper invoice coding, tax treatment, and document matching in accordance with company procedures.

Ledger Maintenance

  • Accurately record daily customer receipts and supplier payments in the accounting system.

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate ledger records to support financial reporting requirements.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Conduct regular (daily or weekly) bank reconciliations by comparing bank statements against accounting records.

  • Investigate, identify, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure accuracy of financial data.

Journal Entries

  • Prepare and enter standard monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustment entries.

  • Support month-end closing activities by ensuring all journal transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

Filing & Administrative Support

  • Maintain an organized digital and/or physical filing system for invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.

  • Ensure records are properly archived and readily accessible for audits, reviews, and internal reference.

 

Requirements:

Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in data entry, bookkeeping, or junior accounting roles.

  • Prior experience within an accounting firm will be an added advantage.

Education

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

  • Additional accounting certifications or relevant qualifications will be considered an advantage.

Software Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP functions and basic formulas.

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, SAP, or similar systems is highly preferred.

  • Excellent data entry accuracy with strong attention to numerical details.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative and supportive approach within the finance team.

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to team success.
