Group Chief Engineer (Hospitality / Integrated Resort)

Location: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

The Role

Lead and drive all engineering and maintenance functions across a portfolio of premium hotel and resort assets. You will own asset reliability, CAPEX strategy, compliance, and engineering excellence—ensuring seamless operations that directly support guest experience and business performance.

Job Scope

• Set and execute group engineering strategy, standards, and KPIs
• Oversee multi-property engineering operations (MEP, HVAC, utilities, life safety)
• Lead CAPEX planning, asset lifecycle management, and major renovations
• Ensure full regulatory compliance, safety, and risk control
• Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
• Partner with hotel operations to maintain world-class guest experience
• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams across sites
• Manage vendors, contracts, and technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent); BEM registration preferred
• 12–18+ years’ experience, with 7–10 years in senior leadership
• Strong background in hospitality, resorts, or large-scale facilities
• Proven track record in CAPEX, renovations, and multi-site operations
• Deep expertise in building systems, maintenance strategy, and compliance
• Strategic, hands-on leader with strong stakeholder management skills
