FINANCE CONTROLER [ KULAI ]

Roles & Responsibilities of the Finance Controller:

  • Manage/Complete Budgeting, 12-month rolling forecast activities,
  • Ensure correct standard costing of products and actual cost allocation
  • Review and ensure revenue and cost are recognized in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure correct product standard cost and perform product costing calculations.
  • Responsible for monthly/quarterly/year end closing activities.
  • Provide analysis of Manufacturing Costs, Overheads, Absorption and Manufacturing Variances.
  • Provide analysis on changes in Inventory and provide drivers. Regularly work with the business to identify inventories at risk.
  • Review of cost center costs, analyze trends and identify drivers vs budget deviations.
  • Provide monthly management analysis and commentary on major variances.
  • Provide audit schedules and assist in internal and external audit requests.
  • Drive scenario based analysis on new/existing product costing
  • Provides guidance on investment and project decision
  • Involve in CAPEX discussion
  • Work closely with operation departments on material and manufacturing cost development.
  • Involvement and participation in cost-saving and process efficiency activities/initiatives
  • Analyzing profitability and cost-effectiveness of operations
  • Liaise with External auditor on costing related matter – production/internal orders, product profitability, stock take. 
  • Participate in PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) projects.
  • Support tax department on operations related matter especially on new regulation on sales service tax
  • Prepare product cost statement for custom.
  • Involve in Year-end stock take process and annual budget.
  • Ensure awareness of and adherence to Global Compliance policy for legal entity

  • Thorough knowledge in product costing, variance analysis and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Thorough understanding of a production driven environment
  • Deep understanding of relationship between different Financial KPIs
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team
  • Detailed-oriented
  • Ability to present essentials concisely even for complicated topics
  • Good Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Ability to comply with deadlines & to work under pressure
  • Flexibility, ability to handle stress and high-grade emphasis on finding solutions and producing results

  • Confident handling of MS Office and SAP R/3

  • Very good written and spoken English

Education:    Degree in Accountancy/Business Administration

Experience:   

Minimum 8 years of sound professional experience in a similar position in the Controlling Department of a company with international operations and related industry.
