PURCHASING MANAGER [ MANUFACTURER / SENAI ]
Lead all procurement activities and prepare reports on key department metrics (PPV, OTD performance, open PO/past due purchase orders and NCMR etc.)
Motivate and manage the workload of buyers, supervise their work to achieve optimum team performance.
Work closely with the operation team in inventory control to meet desired objective, i.e. monitor safety stock level periodically; monitor the top value items inventory.
Proactively identify material shortages and escalation with suppliers and internally
Participate in setting standard costs.
Enforce procurement procedures and process and strive for continuous improvement.
Ensure buyers to follow-up quality issues with Quality/Process Engineers and the Suppliers to ensure all rejects are handle promptly. All “RTV” and “NCMR” issues are closed promptly and transaction by warehouse personnel are updated.
Maintain and manage suppliers’ relationships to meet defined objectives.
Support organization’s continuous improvement strategies by participating to achieve operational excellence
To ensure buyers comply with the company and company policies. To take disciplinary actions on staffs who violate company, business ethics or purchasing policies, jeopardizing the product quality and reputation of the company
To manage and reshuffle the workload and responsibilities of the buyers to achieve optimum results to meet organizational goals and
To approve purchase of raw materials and parts within the authority approval limit
Degree in Purchasing/Business management/Supply Chain management.
At least 5 years’ experience in Purchasing of manufacturing parts with at least 2 years of experience managing team/people.
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, SAP and Microsoft office system
Possess strong negotiation and communication skills to work closely with cross-functional teams; production, engineering, quality, finance and suppliers to achieve objectives
Proactive and able to thrive in high-stress, fast changing environment, able to work independently, responsible and diligent. Organised and meticulous with an eye for details
